The Beatz Crew, founded in 2020 by Felix Hug (Music Teacher and Head of the Arts Department at KIS), is Kanakia International’s Official Chorale Ensemble and home to KIS’ musicians. The SAA/CAS Club have also performed at the Mahindra Independence Rock Festival 2023, Younger than Springtime 2021-2024 and the Mahindra Blues Festival 3 years in a row, 2023 to 2025. In 2024, they debuted with their single, ‘Her Bluesy Soul’, an original tribute dedicated to empowering the girls of the Nanhi Kali Foundation.

For many of us, music is a future, a career where we find ourselves living a dream of artistic expression and freedom to create music that enriches our lives and tells our stories. Despite the hesitant feeling to pursue music as a career, the students of our club aim to break that stereotype and be passionate advocates and leaders in the music world.

OFF THE RECORD, founded in 2025 by Chairwomen Bhramari Ninjoor and Shruthi Jairam, is the first ever Kanakia International Entertainment Conference that acts as a platform to challenge the narrative and bridge the gap between students, educators and industry leaders.This entertainment conference empowers all of the performing arts, from acting, singing, directing to dancing, producing music and playwriting.

The centrepoint of this conference is to REINVENT THE IDEA of performing arts in South Asia, CONNECT students, teachers and industry professionals of the Entertainment and Events Community, DESTIGMATIZE THE NOTION of enrolling in the performing arts as a profession, and ENCOURAGE A FUTURE career or investment in entertainment, events and performing arts.

Along with Felix Hug, The OTR Board of Directors have worked to curate this conference specifically to raise awareness and build a community to address the most essential constituent of India’s cultural identity, the performing arts industry.
