Felix Hug

H.O.D. Arts at KIS and President of B.O.D.

Felix Hug is a Music Educator and H.O.D. Arts at Kanakia International School. After writing on the Wall in Berlin on the 4th November 1989 aged 11, a wonderful and interesting time in Namibia, witnessing its Independence from South Africa, until graduating from DHPS in Windhoek in 1996. After service in Germany, he spent his time in Southwest London, at the esteemed Kingston University. Years of work for the Nottinghamshire County Council and the Yamaha Music School as music educator and head of keyboard, family and work opportunities took him to India, where he is still teaching in the same school 17 years later, proudly looking back at more than 15 musical productions conducted in school, and incredibly fortunate appearances at celebrated festivals including the Mahindra Blues Festival and the Independence Rock Festival in Mumbai. He has also played the piano for Amit Trivedi’s composition “Udaan Theme” from Udaan (2010) “Dua” from “No one killed Jessica” (2011). “Mahek Bhi “ from Aiyaa 2015 Music composition for “Main aur Charles” and 2017 Motley Production of “3 Penny Opera” at the Aadyam Festival

Shruthi Jairam

Chairwoman and Founder of OTR

Shruthi Jairam is the Beatz Crew CAS Club Head, Chairwoman and Founder of Off The Record. She is the Vice-President of Kanakia International School. Shruthi has been training professionally in vocals since she was 9, has been a part of the Stop-Gaps Junior Chorale Ensemble, plays the piano and is an active participant in all school events such as musicals and CAS organised events. Shruthi was a part of the  ‘Her Bluesy Soul’ original tribute by The Beatz Crew (KIS’ Choral Ensemble) as the co-songwriter of the track and one of five vocalists. She is a budding, ambitious advocate for the Arts. She hopes to become a leader in the Global Performing Arts industry with her passion for various art forms such as film, music and writing, and creative visions for a reimagined future.

Bhramari Ninjoor

Chairwoman of OTR

Bhramari Ninjoor is the Beatz Crew CAS Club Head and Chairwoman of OTR’25. She plays the roles of instrumentalist and vocalist while simultaneously being an active participant in every school musical and performing arts related event of KIS. Bhramari was a part of the  ‘Her Bluesy Soul’ original tribute by The Beatz Crew (KIS’ Choral Ensemble) as the Bassist and one of five vocalists. She is currently professionally training on the Bass Guitar as an IBDP Music HL Student who dreams to open her own recording studio in the future, allowing herself to step into the role of music producer and redefine the boundaries of the Arts through her creations.

Dhruan Lapsia

Vice-Chairman of OTR

Dhruan Lapsia has been playing the drums since the 6th grade, and if there’s any opportunity he gets to play, he takes it without thinking twice! He believes that it is music that connects people and finds himself using it as a medium for self-expression. He has completed Trinity Grade 6 on Drums with a well-deserved distinction and was a part of the ‘Her Bluesy Soul’ original tribute by The Beatz Crew (KIS’ Choral Ensemble) as the drummer.

Sohana Kapoor

Vice-Chairwoman of OTR

Sohana Kapoor is an integral part of The Beatz Crew CAS Club and the Vice-Chairwoman of OTR’25. Ever since the age of 5, every word that came from Sohana’s mouth was sung. For students like Sohana, Off The Record reaffirms their love for the arts. She finds music and the performing arts to be her own personal healing after a heavy day and uses this passion to encourage others to find their love for performing, exploring and creating. As Vice-Chairwoman of OTR’25, Sohana believes that events like these are an integral part of an ideal student experience to receive maximum exposure to the true identity of our country.
